Do you know about the JEE Exam?

JEE Exam is a gateway for students who want to pursue their career in engineering to get admission into leading engineering colleges of India. Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is one of the national level exams conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) every year.

This exam has two stages:
1. JEE Mains
2. JEE Advanced
Students who qualify the JEE main are eligible to appear for the JEE advanced exam. Candidates who pass the JEE advanced exam are selected for admission into prestigious IITs and other top notch institutions and those who clear the JEE Main exam which is an entry level exam are eligible for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and any other reputed engineering institutes.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Mains and Advanced

JEE Mains

JEE mains is conducted in 2 papers (paper 1 for engineering and paper 2 for architecture).

Students must have mathematics and physics as compulsory subjects along with chemistry/Biology with at least 75% marks for (General category) and 65% marks for (SC-ST category) scored in their 12th class. JEE Mains exam is held twice in a year (January and April). There is no age limit but the students are allowed to appear for exams for three consecutive years from the passing year of 12th standard.

JEE Advanced

• Students who have qualified JEE Mains and have scored amongst the top 2,50,000 candidates (including reserved categories).
• Those who have minimum 75% (General category) and 65% marks (SC-ST category) in class 12 board exams.
• Candidates are allowed to appear for JEE Advanced only for two consecutive years if they have failed to pass the exam.

Once you clear JEE mains exam, you will go through the counselling round which is conducted by JOSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). Candidates are then required to do the registration process.
