ICSE Board Class 2 Syllabus

ICSE Class 2 Syllabus for All Subjects

The ICSE class 2 syllabus covers a wide range of subject areas like English, Hindi, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Computer Studies and Arts Education.

In English & Hindi, children locate key ideas and can engage in role play. The syllabus focuses on having classroom discussions, identify key ideas from the text and gather additional information on the topic that is being discussed. The syllabus also allows students to interpret a picture using simple questions, comprehend a passage, rearrange pictures in an order, etc.

In Mathematics, students learn to read and write 3 digit numbers up to 999, identify place values of numbers, arrange numbers in ascending or descending order, addition & subtraction of two digit numbers, multiplication tables of 2, 3, 4 & 5, draw horizontal and vertical straight lines, understand simple graphs & compare weight of two objects, etc.

In EVS, the ICSE syllabus for class 2 focuses on developing skills of observation, creative & verbal expression along with communication. The syllabus allows students to learn functions of various body parts including sense organs, locate body parts in the pictures, solve puzzles, identify one’s own and other’s feelings, caring for their body parts, caring for pets, understand importance of food, difference between healthy and junk food, learn different food habits, sources of water, water purification techniques, reuse of water, etc.

In Computer Studies, the ICSE syllabus focuses on what makes computer an electronic device, role of computers in teaching and learning process, impact of computers, input and out devices and their functions, various key combinations on a keyboard and how to apply punctuations using a keyboard, application of mouse, using paint software, how to save a file, etc.

In Arts Education, the syllabus focuses on clay modelling, draw and paint different sizes, shapes and label them, draw different trees, plants, buildings and other objects, etc.
