Class 1 is the base to learn fundamental concepts. Students in class 1 are trying to learn how to express their ideas and feeling clearly. At this stage, children try to mimic others. To clarify ideas, they are taught to draw or add visual displays to descriptions and learn to understand small phrases and their meanings. In English & Hindi, students learn to recite poems, read stories on various themes, and write sentences on familiar topics like self, trees, games, etc. They also learn where to use a full stop and capital letters. Here they are also learning to take dictations to strengthen their spelling skills.

In Computer Studies, the ICSE syllabus for Class 1 helps students define a computer as a machine and learn about different types of computers, its uses & various parts, storage devices, and how to use a computer (do’s and don’ts).
In Arts Education, the ICSE syllabus focuses on the understanding of the line, shape, and size of objects, making shapes of different sizes using clay, drawing and colour various shapes, etc.
