Her career spans across four decades, teaching Economics at Modern School (Vasant Vihar, New Delhi). One of the key highlights of her career was an annual inter-school event - Economite - which was a key activiy of the Economics Club. It provided a platform for young minds to debate on various key Economic issues. She has authored a book for Oxford University Press and has been associated as a resource person with NCERT and CBSE. She is an alumnus of Delhi Univesity (BA (Hons) Economics) from Lady Shri Ram College and a Masters in Business Economics from the south campus.
In a career spanning 22 years, she was an English Language Teacher at Modern School (Vasant Vihar, New Delhi) for the first 15 years. She was a Magazine Incharge for English section too. Thereafter she took on a new assignment at Shradha India as a Consultant Trainer for Grammar, Voice & Accent, Email and TEchnical Writing skills. She designed the course content and its supplementary material, and then taught and trained over 1500 students who comprised Call Centre Executives, Outbound Nurses and SOftware Engineers.
In her teaching career spanning across four decades, Mrs. Bhatt taught English at the Post Graduate level. Her last position was as the Head of English Department at Modern School, Vasant Vihar (1976-2012). She has been a Consultant and an Author for various reputed organizations like British Council, Macmillan Publisher, EQFI Educom and CBSE. She has also been a Master Trainer (CCE and ALS) and conducted workshops all over India, launching the communicative approach in CBSE schools. She has multiple publications that accredit her with the content creation and syllabus design, and has also been instrumental in creating the text books for classes 9 to 12. She has been the recipient of the Charles Wallace Scholarship and is also an international British Council awardee of Diploma in TESOL Edinburgh 2000.Currently, she is engaged in a Whole School English Development Program for Vidya (NGO in Gurgaon), aiming at capacity building and enhancing listening & speaking skills.
